Webtec Products Ltd was founded in 1964
as a joint venture between two American companies: Applied
Power of Milwaukee and Webster Electric of Racine, with the
objective of manufacturing hydraulic components for sale in
Europe. The company was purchased by its own management in
1970 and is now British controlled.
Since 1965 Webtec have been supplying the UK engineering
industry with competitively priced products. Their
commitment to high quality and the needs of their
customers has enabled Webtec to survive and grow. The
customer is recognised by all the company as its only
long term source of income, profit and growth hence
Webtec's high regard for outstanding customer service.
Webtec is represented in the UK by the DCA partnership.
One partner, Hydrastore, stocks a comprehensive range of
Webtec products, and all DCA sales representatives are
available to offer advice and assistance on Webtec
products and their application.
Webtec has a vast range of
hydraulic components
from Hand Pumps to Directional Control
Valves. Customisation of products is also available to
meet customers specialist requirements. One area of
specialisation has been the design and manufacture of
Flow Control Valves.
In addition Webtec Products manufactures the Webster range
of
hydraulic test equipment
for measuring flow, pressure,
temperature and speed. The Webster range has expanded over
the years to include a full range of test equipment from a pressure
test point to a hydraulic datalogger.
A major part of Webtec's growth since 1990 has been due
to investment in manufacturing, and in recent years they
have purchased a number of machining companies. In 1986
the business of these companies was consolidated and
absorbed by Webtec. Their modern machine shop is located
in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire and products are produced using computer
controled machines. All component assembly and testing is
carried out in St. Ives, in accordance with EN ISO 9001.
Typical applications for Webtec's products include:
mining equipment, marine equipment, machine tools,
injection moulding plant, conveyors, rolling mills and
also on mobile machinery ranging from small fork lift
trucks to cranes and heavy earth movers, crop sprayers
and agricultural machinery.
